For those Sugar Land residents who experienced structural damage to their home during Hurricane Harvey, assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be available soon. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) allocated $1.098 billion in Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds from HUD for rehabilitation and reconstruction of thousands of owner-occupied single-family homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey. To prepare for the application being released, residents who qualify should review the Homeowner Assistance Program Checklist and have all applicable documents ready prior to the release date.
